How to Attach MOLLE webbing accessories

Updated August 2026 by Travis Brodie, Tactical Baby Gear

To attach a MOLLE pouch correctly: weave the pouch strap behind the bag's webbing, then back through the pouch's own webbing, alternating every row until the full length is secured, and finish with the snap. The weave is what locks it — a strap pushed straight through one loop will not hold.

Step-by-step MOLLE attachment

Correct MOLLE weave on a tactical diaper bagMOLLE pouch attached the correct way
  1. Choose the attachment point on your diaper bag or backpack.
  2. Align the horizontal webbing of both pouch and bag, staggering the rows.
  3. Insert the pouch strap behind the bag's loop, then weave back behind the pouch's own webbing.
  4. Continue alternating between pouch webbing and bag webbing until the pouch is secured along its entire length.
  5. Secure the snap closure.

Attached this way, the pouch is stable through a full day of use.

Do not push the strap straight through the bag webbing without the alternating, interlocking weave. The pouch will not be secure.
